All-on-4®

Implant Dentures in a Day

If you have experienced tooth loss or are struggling with a failing denture, All-on-4® dental implants can help you reclaim your smile. Traditional dental implants can require multiple surgeries and many months of healing time. With All-on-4® dental implants, Nashville, TN, dentist Jerry Hancock can provide you with an implant-supported full-arch denture in a single appointment.

Our practice is proud of our role in numerous All-on-4® success stories. Many patients call their new teeth "life-changing." If you would like to explore your candidacy for this transformative option, Dr. Hancock can help.

The All-on-4® dental implant technique uses four small metal posts to secure prosthetic teeth firmly in place.

About All-on-4®

While eight dental implants are typically required to support a full dental arch, the All-on-4® technique can secure a row of 12 to 14 prosthetic teeth with four implant posts. In this process, two implants are specially placed at a 45-degree angle, tilted away from the other two implants. These angled implants are longer than standard posts, and the unique placement takes advantage of the bone density by making greater surface contact.

Some patients do not have sufficient jaw bone tissue to support traditional implants due to delaying treatment for a missing tooth. However, patients with compromised bone tissue often can support All-on-4® implants. If needed, Dr. Hancock can perform a bone grafting procedure to replace lost tissue prior to placement of traditional or All-on-4® implants.

All-on-4® implants are specifically designed for patients who need to replace a full row of teeth or more. Compared to a traditional, removable denture, All-on-4® teeth offer many benefits, including:

  • Improved chewing function
  • A stable denture that will not slip out of place
  • A comfortable, irritation-free fit
  • Improved aesthetics
  • Support for facial structure (eliminating a sunken appearance)
  • Maintained oral health through prevention of jaw bone atrophy (loss of bone tissue due to the absence of tooth roots)

All-on-4® provides overall improved function and aesthetics, similar to traditional implant dentures. Because the technique requires fewer implants, the surgery is simpler, less invasive, and less costly than standard implant placement.

We can fully restore your smile in just one appointment, allowing you to enjoy the foods you love and to speak with clarity and confidence.

Full-service Restorative Dentistry

Dr. Hancock is a highly experienced implant surgeon and restorative dentist who enjoys helping patients regain freedom and optimal oral function. At your initial appointment, he will make an individualized treatment recommendation and provide detailed information to help you make a decision.

To plan your surgery, Dr. Hancock uses advanced technology, including an in-office CT scan to evaluate bone and tissue, and a computerized surgical guide to aid in precise placement. Surgery is usually performed with local anesthesia, but other sedation options are available. We can perform any necessary extractions, place your implants, and provide complete restorative services.

In most cases, patients can receive a denture immediately after surgery and enjoy a meal later that day. This denture is temporary, to be worn while your implants are integrating with the jawbone. They will be replaced by beautiful, permanent dentures in three to six months.

Your new All-on-4® dentures will snap on to your implants with specially designed ball-and-socket connectors. They remain firmly in place but are easily removable for cleaning. It is important for dental implant patients to continue to receive regular check-ups and cleanings to prevent gum disease. Properly caring for your All-on-4® implants can help ensure that they last a lifetime.
